Our Brand New Bowling Wheelchairs!

We are very pleased to say, after holding a number of fundraising events at the club and also receiving both a private donation and a grant from the EIBA Charitable Trust, we now have two brand new bowling wheelchairs at the club. It has been an ambitious fundraising project to take on this year and we would like to take this opportunity to thank our members and everyone who has contributed to the events we have held for their support. Our club aims to be inclusive and we are keen to provide opportunities for disabled people to participate in bowling. As such, the ability to provide appropriate equipment for all our members is extremely important to us. More

New Scoreboards

Just to let our members know, we have had new scoreboards installed on the bowling green at the club. We hope you will agree that this makes a great improvement. More

Thanks to Remap….

We would like to extend our thanks to Remap for making repairs and adding a bowls carrier to one of our old bowling wheelchairs so that we are able to put it back into use while we continue to fundraise for our new chairs. Remap is a charity who custom makes equipment to help disabled people live more independent lives. The work they do is extremely valuable to the recipients they help. Remap as a charity relies on support and donations from the public to provide this service. For further information please visit their website www.remap.org.uk More

A big well done also goes to runners-up Val Hay and Clive Parish. More

DBE Membership

We are pleased to announce that B.I.B.C. is now a member of Disability Bowls England. We are keen to promote inclusivity at our club and encourage players with physical, sensory or intellectual disabilities to participate in bowls and get involved in the many matches and competitions on offer. We look forward to welcoming DBE to the club in winter season 2019/20 when we have fixtures arranged with them. More

Cake Sale Fundraiser

We held a fundraiser at the club on Friday 15th March which included a cake stall, a raffle and 'guess the weight of the cake' and 'guess how many sweets in the jar' games. We managed to raise a fantastic £423 which will go towards our current fundraising project which is to purchase new wheelchairs to be used on the green at the club. A massive thank you to everyone who contributed/supported us. It was a lovely day and a positive one for our club. More

Carole Ison – President’s Day 2019

It is safe to say a fun afternoon was had by all who attended this year's presidents day! With optional pyjama fancy dress and a snakes and ladders themed match things got quite competitive and lots of laughs were had. Well done to Carole for organising the game. As a club, we would like to take this opportunity to thank this year's president Carole Ison. During her time in office, she has shown great commitment to the club and its members. We are extremely grateful for all her hard work and dedication to the role. More

Table Top Sale

On Friday 30th November we held our annual table top sale. The proceeds from the sale go partly to our junior team fund with the remainder going towards projects within the club to benefit members. So, with this in mind, we are pleased to share that we had a very successful day raising £500 so far. The hamper raffle will continue to run for a few more weeks (it will be drawn on 20th December) with tickets available to purchase at the bar and whatever this raffle makes will be added to the total. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated/purchased items and supported this event it is much appreciated. More
