Junior members selected for county team

B.I.B.C. would like to congratulate junior members Ellie-Marie Hamblett and Erin Boyd-Hope on being selected for the under 18's county team. The girls attended their first match versus Norfolk at Peterborough & District IBC on 12th November 2017. They both played very well along with the rest of their teammates. Leicestershire won overall 82-58. Ellie's rink won 25-9 and Erin's rink won 20-9 which is a fantastic achievement for their first time representing the county. Ellie and Erin should be as proud of themselves as their club is of them. More

Potters Tournament Win

New Club Shirt

B.I.B.C. have introduced a new club shirt in order to update the clubs image. We feel that this is a positive development that will unify our members particularly when playing against teams from other clubs. We are hopeful that our members will be supportive of this move. The new shirts are available to purchase at a special introductory price of £10 each until the end of 2017. More

Junior Open Day

On 16th August the club held its first Junior Open Day. Young people aged 6-17 years were invited to come along and take part in a fun introduction to bowls. The session consisted of various activities and competitions with prizes being presented to the winners. We would like to thank everyone who attended and hope to see those interested in pursuing bowls at our regular Junior training sessions. The day was a big success and we will definitely be holding more of these open days specifically aimed at encouraging young people into the sport in the future.  More

Special Olympics

Barwell member Alex Comack recently represented the East Midlands playing bowls at the Special Olympics GB National Games. This was held in Sheffield between 7th-12th August. Alex played extremely well bringing home a silver medal in the triples which was presented to him by world number one champion Greg Harlow. We would like to congratulate Alex on his success, what an amazing achievement! More
